A simple how-to guide on adding intermissions to your shows

An Intermission block is used in a playlist when you want to add a break in the screening of a feature.

The block can either be added manually when you are creating the playlist, or automatically by specifying on the feature CPL when the Intermission should start.

The Intermission block has two times, Start and Resume. Start tells you when the Intermission should start, and Resume tells you when the feature should resume. It is good practice to set the Resume time 30 seconds to 2 minutes earlier than the Start time, so the feature will resume by playing the last few seconds/minutes that were played before the break.

After the Intermission block has been added, you can add whatever content or black clips you want to it, and it can last for as long as desired.

When an Intermission block is added to a playlist, it will split the feature, so it seems as though there are two features in the playlist.

Intermission in multipart features

A lot of features, especially Bollywood features, have two parts, and most cinemas will usually have a short intermission between the parts.

Rosetta does automatically put PART-1 or PART-2 tags from the CPL title if it detects P or PART followed by a number and surrounded by either "-" or "_".

For example: GAMECHANGER-P1_FTR_S_TA-EN_INT-TD_51_4K_ASV_20250108_RIC_IOP_OV

Rosetta will automatically fill inn the Start and Resume times in Intermission for multipart features, and the time that is filled in, is the end time for the first part/CPL.

To make Rosetta do this, you need to create a film group in Rosetta, add both parts of the film to that group, and use that film group in the playlist, along with an Intermission block.

When building a playlist template, you can simply add intermission and use the same template for both one part movies and movies with multiple parts. For one part movies, this intermission will be ignored. For multipart movies, the intermission will be added between the 1st and 2nd parts.

Here is an example of what an Intermission block looks like:
